A symbol inspired by sadness and designed with love.
By Nick & River
The Be Right Back Bear was brought to life to support anxious little humans who fear being separated from their loved ones.
After asking River how he feels when we can’t be together, he looked down at his hands and quietly said “I feel scared.”
With my rational, grown up brain perplexed, I replied “Oh, that’s interesting”.
Slightly annoyed and head tilted, River enquired “Why is that interesting, Daddy?”
Realising my lack of compassion, I unwittingly asked “Well, what do you have to be scared of?”
Almost in disbelief, River replied “I might never see you again!”
Big feelings deserve patience and compassion.
Even when they sound irrational in the moment.
